TAKING PHOTOGRAPHS AT NIGHT & UNDER INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS |
Shooting “in the dark” can be really fun, exciting, and create incredibly dramatic images. There’s something magical about photographs taken at dusk, at night and under inclement weather conditions. If you want to set your photography apart from the crowd, win awards and get published then the “Photographing the Edges of the Night” workshop is for you. This workshop will be limited to eight participants. This is a “hands on” workshop where you will photograph dramatic skylines, city streets with moving blurs, neon lights, fountains, and a variety of special effects such as zooms and flares. We’ll also discuss capturing lightning, taking photographs in the rain, dramatic fog and clouds, and shooting the moon. This is not a “camera workshop” - where we show off fancy equipment and gadgets you need to purchase. All you need is a good camera, even a "point and shoot” camera, a sturdy tripod, and a flashlight. |

THE WORKSHOP WILL COVER:
This photography workshop is designed for both basic and advanced photography enthusiasts. DSLR cameras are recommended, but advanced point and shoot digital cameras will be suitable for the workshop provided they are not more than 3 years old. The only other equipment needed for the class is a sturdy tripod and a small flashlight. On Saturday afternoon we will meet in the studio and learn how to set up and use our cameras. One hour prior to sunset we will travel to a nearby location, possibly the Arch or Citygarden in downtown St Louis to take sunset, dusk and night photographs. We will do the same on Sunday and Monday evenings. A light dinner is included in the Saturday and Sunday meetings. To make sure everybody gets plenty of personal instruction the workshop will be limited to eight participants.
